Become a UEZ Member Business!
To take advantage of UEZ benefits, you must be a certified UEZ business. We’ll be happy to assist you in the application process, but there are some documents we require prior to providing an application.
To Obtain an Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) Application:
1.) Verify that your business is located within the Urban Enterprise Zone by calling the Jersey City Economic Development Corporation at 201-333-7797.
2.) Once your business information has been verified, you may either pick up the UEZ application from our office or have it mailed to you.
3.) Ensure that your business is compliant with all New Jersey State taxes.
Important documents that must be included with your certification application are the following:
• Business’s legal name and address,
• Tax I.D. Number
• Business Registration Certificate
• Copy of your signed lease or deed. Please Note: Your Business Registration Certificate must
have the same address as the business location where you
are applying. If the address is different, you must update
the Business Registration Certificate before requesting a
UEZ application.
